In order to live a more meaningful life one must not only attempt to reach their full potential but its important to pause every now and then to reflect and acknowledge the little things.
What are they you ask, its all those little things that happen everyday that pass us by, but they are actually the big things, the things we should remember. A hug from your child, a thoughtful message from a friend, a colleagues help, the sun shining after a few days of rain, a new flower popping out in your garden, food on your table, the warmth of a cup of tea, a smile from a stranger. All these little things are something to be grateful for.
And when you start to notice them and you reflect each day - it changes us. It'll change you.
Daily gratitude means that you choose to focus your attention on what you appreciate. It doesn't mean that you must forget all your worries, its just a way to see those difficulties with a new perspective. Gratitude softens us. Its a simple way to shift your perspective and it begins to manifest in your day today life. It also makes you more mindful but that's a discussion for another day.
So try it out and see if anything shifts or changes for you. 5 minutes at the start or end of your day is all you need to do. Just try it!
